Arizona- Between the Arizona sun and the bounty of our soil, LocavoreAZ is a spectacular outdoor dining experience that brings Locavores to some of Arizona’s most beautiful farms, ranches, wineries and the Grand Canyon, the state’s most popular natural wonder. At each of the breathtaking settings across the state, acclaimed Chef James Porter creates a decadent four-course meal with paired wines. Every bite and sip comes from an Arizona farmer, rancher, food producer, and wine maker. As guests take in the bounty of the earth, they will dine together at a family-style outdoor table nestled in the middle of the farm, set with white linen and china. Ash Creek Ranch in Dewey, Dos Cabezas Winery in Sonoita, Apple Annie’s Orchard in Wilcox, and that giant aforementioned hole in the Earth are solidified places for the first half of the year. Though some dates remain undetermined, they range from April to September. After hosting over one-thousand guests in ‘08 for his routinely sold-out “Locavore Dinner” series at his restaurant, Tapino Kitchen & Wine Bar in Scottsdale, Chef Porter is considered a leader in Arizona’s local food movement. A champion of local farmers, food producers, and independently owned businesses, Porter is committed to using his culinary talent and business acumen to help the community grow, one bite at a time. LocavoreAZ dinners are a chance for Chef Porter to continue to share his delight in the gift of great food and wine with people from across the state and the country.
