Legendary Grammy Award‐winning singer/songwriter Kris Kristofferson will perform live at Celebrity Theatre (440 N. 32nd St.) on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

Kris has always identified himself first and foremost as a writer, and true writers know that what works best is giving a piece of themselves to the listener. That is exactly what Kristofferson has done over the course of his storied career. His story is fairly well known: he had a dream – along with the necessary talent and ambition – to become a songwriter.

After turning down a teaching position at West Point, the Rhodes Scholar hoped to get his foot in the door of the music business by taking a job as a janitor at Columbia Records. It wasn’t long after arriving in Nashville that he was receiving armloads of acclaim and being hailed as one of America’s clearest and most important voices, having penned such classics as “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Sunday Morning Coming Down,” “For The Good Times,” “Help Me Make It Through The Night,” and many others.

Now Kristofferson has reached living legend status. Kristofferson’s songs have been cut by more than 450 artists. The Country Music Hall of Fame member has also appeared in more than 100 films, documentaries and television movies.

Don’t miss this special evening of music with one of America’s true songwriting gems. Tickets ($40, $60) can be purchased at www.dannyzeliskopresents.com or by phone (602-267-1600). For more information please visit www.dannyzeliskopresents.com as well as www.kriskristofferson.com
