Battlezones Suns v. Warriors
Monday, Feb. 13th @ 8:30 pm mst
Suns
Key Matchup
A key match-up to watch in this game is Steve Nash v. Steph Curry. Nash is quick and concise. The only question here is whether or not he can sustain and hang in with the younger Curry?
Strengths
In years past, the Suns strengths would have been running with the Warriors, beating them at their own game. But not this time. The Suns need to rely on their good, solid defense and get to the foul line.
Weakness
The Suns weakness in this one is going to be them placed in situations where they have to create their own shots. Suns lack isolation players.
Keys to Victory
As strange as it seems…the Suns team must keep this game physical and keep the pace slow to be the most competitive. Limiting transition buckets won’t hurt either.
Warriors
Key Matchup
Curry was once the interest of the Suns in the draft three years ago, and said to be the one that Nash would pass the torch to. Seeing the two of them square-off will be amazing to watch.
Strength
The Warriors are the Suns of this new era with their style of play. Expect a lot of running and 3pt shooting.
Weakness
Though this team is very exciting to watch, it is no secret that the only reliable “big man” they have is David Lee, and even he can be streaky at times.
Prediction Warriors
The Suns will keep it close most of the game but look for the fresh legs of the Warriors to formulate a strong 4th quarter. Suns fans have been down this road far too often. Warriors 97 – Suns 88.
Tues Feb 14th 7pm Suns @ Nuggets
On the most romantic day of the year, look for the Suns to show the Nuggets some tough love. This game could get super sweet in the 3rd quarter when the Suns slow down a bit, so make sure and tune in for the festival and LOVE of the game.
Wed Feb 15th 7pm Hawks @ Suns
Former Sun Joe Johnson and Josh Smith bring the Hawks high-flying act to the desert. With their feet firmly on the ground, Nash and the Suns will have to beef up their defense to make sure the Hawks don’t fly the coop.
Fri Feb 17th 830pm Suns @ Lakers
Kobe has said that he has a genuine dislike for the Suns and enjoys beating them. Will the Suns rise to the occasion? Who knows, but by the way…”Kobe, how does the dust taste?”
