ROCK'S HEAVY HITTTERS BRINGING METAL AND MAYHEM TO THE VALLEY OF THE SUN JULY 16TH

Rockstar Mayhem Festival featuring Korn, Rob Zombie, Lamb of God and Five Finger Death Punch July 16, 2010 at Cricket Wireless Pavilion

In its third year, the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival already has a rich history of featuring high-profile hard rock and metal bands. This year's lineup is no different, as Korn, Rob Zombie, Lamb of God, and Five Finger Death Punch will be the headliners.

The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival is an annual summer tour that brings together many hard rock and metal bands on three stages from July to August across the U.S. (In 2010, the tour also included a stop in Canada.) The festival, sponsored by Rockstar Energy drink, was founded by Kevin Lyman, who organizes the punk-minded summer tour Warped, and John Reese, who assists Lyman in overseeing Taste of Chaos, a spring festival of hardcore punk and metal bands. The Rockstar Mayhem festival features two side stages that run during the middle of the day, which is then followed by a main stage during the evening where the four tour headliners play. The first Rockstar Mayhem took place in the summer of 2008. The main stage featured Slipknot (who were supporting All Hope Is Gone), Disturbed (supporting Indestructible), DragonForce, and Mastodon. The festival also included motocross exhibitions and promotional tents for the tour's sponsors. Rockstar Mayhem 2008 kicked off July 9, running until August 19. The side stages, named Jagermeister and Hot Topic, spotlighted up-andcoming groups like Airbourne, Five Finger Death Punch, Underoath and Machine Head. In addition, the Jagermeister stage included one winner per tour stop of a "Battle of the Bands" contest.

In 2009, Rockstar Mayhem returned with headliners Marilyn Manson (supporting The High End of Low), Slayer, Killswitch Engage (supporting their second self-titled record), and Bullet for My Valentine. The festival again ran from early July through mid-August and again featured three stages, although Hot Topic dropped its sponsorship, which resulted in the third stage being renamed the Mayhem Festival Stage. For the 2010 festival, Rockstar Mayhem bolstered its lineup by including comedian Jay Oakerson and Beacher's Madhouse, a burlesque variety show. Still, hard rock and metal were the featured entertainment, with Korn, Rob Zombie, Lamb of God, and Five Finger Death Punch (making their second Mayhem appearance) serving as the headliners. Additionally, the tour would be making it first trek into Canada, stopping in Montreal in July.

Korn, occasionally typeset as KoRn or KoЯn, is a nu-metal band from Bakersfield, California, and is often credited with popularizing the numetal genre. Along with other bands at the time, they have also inspired many other metal and alternative rock and metal bands throughout the mid 1990s and early 2000s. The band's catalog consists of nine consecutive debuts in the top ten of the Billboard 200, including a compilation album, Greatest Hits Vol. In the song '"Evolution," Lead Singer Jonathan Davis lyrically speaks to mankind's distinct lack of evolution- -while the entity known as Korn has made amazing progress since their self-titled 1994 debut.

Rob Zombie was born as Robert Cummings in Haverhill, Massachusetts on January 12, 1965. He was the former lead singer for the rock/metal group White Zombie, and later became a successful solo artist, disbanding the group after his first solo album sold more in the first week than any of the band's albums ever did. He released that album, Hellbilly Deluxe in 1998. Remixes of some of its tracks were released on 1999's American Made Music To Strip By, followed up by the studio release called The Sinister Urge in 2001. The Grammy-nominated musician, film director, screen writer and film producer brings all the energy, passion and charisma one could possibly hope for to each and every live show he performs.

Lamb Of God cemented their position as one of the emerging extreme music bands, landing a recording contract with Epic Records. In August 2004, Lamb Of God, released its major label debut, "Ashes Of The Wake", that turned the band into true contenders for the Metal throne; the CD crashed into the top 30 of The Billboard 200 chart spawning the Active Rock radio minor hit "Laid To Rest". Towards the end of 2005, the band stopped all touring and came home to Richmond to begin writing the next chapter. An intense 8 month writing process followed and in August 2006 they churned out "Sacrament" which hit the top 10 of The Billboard 200 Sales chart; the 11-track set includes the single "Redneck".

Five Finger Death Punch drags Heavy Metal, kicking and screaming, into a new era. Incorporating all we know and love about the old-school - the guitar solos, attention to songwriting detail, heavy vocals - with new-school melodic vocals and downtuned guitars, the band bridges the gap in grand style and at full speed ahead!
